Acris joins Deep Within Recordings with his debut release on the label.

The Austrian-based label is hot on the path towards worldwide drum and bass fame. In a short period of time, Deep Within Recordings has developed a reputation for supporting some of the finest up-and-coming talent the scene has to offer whilst pushing a deep and heavy minimal agenda.

Fellow Austrian ACRIS is a fresh face on the scene, and has been incredibly selective with the amount of original productions he has unleashed onto the world. The patience shows, and we are rewarded with five deep drum and bass belters.

The title track opens the EP with a meditative bassline coupled with rolling drums and airy effects. A subtle but graceful melody and acidic arpeggios expand the track further. Perfect for adding depth to any set or setting.

Insane, conversely, takes the EP in a darker direction. Downtuned vocals pave the way for a melée of crunchy basslines and steppy drums. Gunfingers guaranteed.

Better Days repeats the downtuned vocals motif in a more hypnotic context. Rolling drums and percussion are intertwined with a pulsating bassline and subtle arpeggios. Entrancing and energetic.

In Tell Me Why, jazzed-up chords follow a melodic bassline, and are substituted for some funky guitar riffage as the track progresses.

Ride With Me closes off the EP on a mellow-yet-pensive tip. Soulful vocals, a gliding bassline, and snappy drums are the order of the day here.
