Austrian imprint Deep Within Recordings welcomes compatriot Puzzle to the label.

Having already amassed a series of releases on other labels at the forefront of the vibrant minimal drum and bass movement (such as In The Lab Recordings, Stellar Audio, and Sound Museum), Puzzle is rapidly developing a reputation for shimmering and energetic drum and bass with occasional forays into experimental house music. His latest release further marks him as one of the chief proponents of a new wave of innovative drum and bass.

Orchid commences the release with a warm and syncopated techy arpeggio which meanders over a foundation of soft and elegant pads, providing the perfect intro for any set in need of a dramatic opening sequence and preparing the listener for a sonic voyage. A short resampled and reversed edit of the main theme precedes a swift transition into the drop, characterised by the continuation and development of the arpeggiated melody alongside shuffling hats, off-kilter kicks, and a warm-yet-raw filtered reese bass.

The introduction of Hyacinth places an experimental, celestial twist on the tried-and-tested formula of an introduction consisting of lucid arpeggios and airy pads. As the track progresses, Puzzle teases ethereal vocals and soft synth stabs whilst a filter on the arpeggio gradually opens. Heavily syncopated organic drums and luscious stabs mark the start of the drop, briefly interrupting the gentle flow of the music before the vibrant and glistening soundscape rolls out and evolves over the remainder of the track.

Orchid and Hyacinth are two tracks as elegant as their floral names would suggest.
