River returns to Deep Within Recordings with his latest EP, featuring a healthy variety of deep multigenre cuts spanning drum and bass and dubstep.

In addition to previous releases on Deep Within Recordings, River has also secured releases on labels including Incurzion, Forbidden Frequencies, and Goat Shed. Through this, he has earmarked himself as an artist which minimal aficionados should keep on their radar.

The opening and title track, Eclipse, commences the EP in furious style. River presents a brutal cut of minimal drum and bass featuring reverb-laden soundscapes and crisp drums, all glued together by a bubbly bassline and guaranteed to give subs a good pounding.

Patchouli Forest develops the dark undertones of the previous track in a dubstep context. Bass-derived effects and dubbed out snares pair with archetypal wobbles to create an unstoppable 140bpm weapon.

Conversely, Strung Out adopts a tone which is more moody than vicious. Haunting, filtered melodies sit alongside a warm, melodic bassline to define a tasteful piece of hybrid liquid and minimal drum and bass.

River closes the release on a lighter note with Time. Significantly more soulful than the rest of the EP, the final track combines frosty chords and a gloriously squelchy bassline with tight percussion and jazzed-up vocals. A versatile track perfect for any setting.

Once again, River demonstrates his technical ability across various musical styles and confirms his status as one of the most promising rising artists in the world of drum and bass.
